✅ Dos and ❌ Don'ts to Create Effective Dubsado Proposals

Dos and Don'ts to Create Effective Dubsado Proposals

Proposals are a key feature of Dubsado and a great way to share your services with clients for them to sign up to work with you in a quick and easy way.

There are a few key things to consider when creating a proposal in Dubsado - a few dos and don’ts to keep in mind.

In this blog post, we'll explore 5 dos and don’ts to create effective Dubsado proposal that will help you sign clients.

Guide to Dubsado Proposals: 5 Tips to Create Effective Client Proposals

✅ DO - Keep it Simple & Straightforward

Focus on important information that clients need to know before signing up for your services, and remove any unnecessary sections or information from the proposal.

Key sections your should include in a proposal:

  • Packages and add-on with clear descriptions + pricing

  • Your process of working with clients

  • Deliverables or scope of work

  • Testimonials

  • Frequently asked questions

Things you shouldn’t include in a proposal:

  • Contract wording - this will be shared in the contract, so it’s not needed in the proposal

  • Content that isn’t helping the client make a decision - like work hours, communication method, etc. This can all be shared later

Remember, anything that isn't necessary will only make the proposal seem longer than it needs to be and can be a potential barrier to people signing up.

❌ DON'T - Include External Links

If you take one key piece of information from this blog post - let it be this tip.

The objective of a proposal is for your clients to sign up to work with you. They only should have two options:

  • Yes - accept the proposal

  • No - decline the proposal (not submit it)

Because of this, do not include social icons with links, portfolio links, website links, or any other link.

Why? Because you're giving people an out or a distraction by including external links. This comes from sales psychology.

Imagine someone is trying to make a decision about working with you. Placing an external link is basically giving them a way out and letting them avoid making a decision. "Oooh! What's on their Instagram feed?" they'll click on the link, go down a rabbit hole and possibly not come back.

By offering two options - a Yes or a No - and removing any distractions, you're giving potential clients a easier way to make a decision.

✅ DO - Include Add-Ons

Consider including add-ons in your proposals if they make sense for your business. This give you an opportunity to showcase additional services or options that clients may find valuable.

Ask yourself:

  • Are there services or tasks that your clients need help with that you're providing and not charging for?

  • Are there services that clients often inquire about that aren't on your proposal and you're invoicing for separately?

Including these options as add-ons can help you provide a better client experience and also increase revenue.

❌ DON'T - Add Too Many Options

Add-ons are awesome, but it's important to strike a balance and not include too many options to avoid confusing or overwhelming clients.

Streamline your proposals by:

  • Combining packages where it makes sense.

  • Including packages that clients sign up for frequently.

  • Removing packages that aren't in high demand.

Simplifying your packages will help reduce confusion and make it easier for your clients to decide on which ones to sign up for.

✅ DO - Add Your Contract & Invoice

Where possible, bundle the contract and invoice with the proposal to create a 3-in-1 proposal form.

This significantly reduces friction for clients as they sign up to work with you, because there are less step in the process.

By including the contract and invoice with your proposal, you're streamlining the process and increasing the likelihood of signing a client vs. sending all the documents in separate emails.

Hope these tips help you create more effective proposals for your business!
